The exhibition addresses autobiographical relations in most recent Polish art. The invited artists tell their own stories. These are life stories whose narration is conducted in the first person singular. The tension between the author figure and the subject of the work on the one hand and between fact and fiction on the other are the pivots of the show. The exhibition demonstrates clear-cut uses of first-person narration to reflect on why contemporary artists use their own biographies so often and are thus both narrators and protagonists, or the subjects and objects of the stories told.

The „Handy Ones” exhibition focuses on the flexibility of matter and endeavours to address the highest possible number of its aspects, both physical (visual, haptic, kinetic) and symbolic or mental (ranging from routine use to fetishising), posing questions about its inherent potential for change, transformation and adaptation. Flexibility is considered here in a dual manner, as the pliability of material and as an aesthetic value.
