Breathing is one of the most important activities of the body performed outside the control of the mind, which means that we do not pay attention to it every day. In the Breathing Symphony project, sound structures, frequency, amplitudes and rhythm are internal work, the body being their source. Time is determined by the rate of breath. Anyone can become a performer of the Breathing Symphony, because the artistic material is the air we all breathe.
During the workshop, we will create a space-time continuum that is conducive to observation and experimenting with breathing. We will discover how we can use our breath to moderate our reactions, moods and emotions. By changing the rhythm and depth of the breath, we will learn to switch the functioning of the nervous system from the state of excitement to the state of relaxation and regeneration.
Our work will be largely directed inwards (constantly remembering that with each breath we connect with each other, with the plant ecosystems, as well as with all life that has taken place on Earth so far).
The main theme of the workshop will be panic attacks. We will look at how they are reflected in the breath and how to mitigate them. At the end we will perform the PANIC Breathing Score.
