History of the waistband - the skirt
22.10.2022, 3 – 7.15 PM

This is a workshop where sewing will be as important as conversation. For those who love skirts in all cuts and colours, and for those who have skirt lovers in their family or among friends. In other words, the workshop is for EVERYONE. It is especially for those who, to be happy, lack only a little knowledge and skill in the construction of different skirt variations.

During the workshop we will present an example of a skirt made using different materials and finishing methods. We will discuss the principles of modelling several different skirt cuts. We will teach you how to make measurements correctly and prepare the basic construction according to the desired size. Each participant will then make a mould of the designed skirt from a substitute fabric (or one they will bring themselves).

We would like to invite primarily people with at least basic machine-sewing skills. The organisers will provide the necessary materials. However, we would like to ask everyone to bring along some old clothes or fabric whose elements can be incorporated into the finished skirt. We will be interested in the past stories of these artefacts and how they can now be creatively transformed.

Admission free. Number of participants limited. Register to participate.
