This work is the indirect outcome of a residency stay the artists took part in as part of a Deutsche Bank Foundation programme at Villa Romana in Florence.
The artist explains: “This work is indirectly the result of my cycling through the streets of Florence and collecting branded boxes. Visually, it takes the shape of a colossus with disproportionate body parts: a large head, a huge penis. It is a combination of my impressions of a multitude of Florentine monuments. Its result is a cardboard sculpture: a representation of consumption combined with art. Its title indicates the names of all the brands on the boxes that I used.”
