The Poznań Photo Diploma Award 2019
9 — 31.03.2019

The Poznań Photo Diploma Award competition was created to promote the work of young artists right after graduation (with first and second degree). It is also a platform for the exchange of experiences between higher education institutions teaching photography in Poland and worldwide. The 2019 edition is the fourth in succession, following those held in 2011, 2013 and 2015. Each of the previous editions was attended by about 150 authors from all over the world. Thanks to an international jury and participants from all over the world, the works selected for the finals and the awarded ones gain wide reception not only in Poland. The jury of this year’s edition: Krzysztof Candrowicz, Maira Dudareva, Grzegorz Kosmala, Aneta Kowalczyk, and Olivier Spillebout have selected ten finalists from those who submitted works for the first stage of the selection. Georgs Avetisjans, Lucia Bláhová, Mariusz Drezniak, Magdalena Franczuk, Martha Friedel, Dominika Gęsicka, Weronika Jędrzejczak, Michał Siarek, Katarzyna Wąsowska & Krystian Daszkowski, and Wiktoria Wojciechowska will present their diploma projects at the principal exhibition of the Poznań Photo Diploma Award 2019, held as of 9 March 2019 at the Arsenał Municipal Gallery. The principal exhibition of this year’s finalists will be accompanied by a solo show of Megan Moore, the First Award winner during the previous edition. The art of Megan Moore will also be on display as of March 9th at Grand Stage Gallery of the Poznań University of Arts in Wodna St. This year’s winner will also receive a cash prize and an invitation to prepare a solo exhibition during the next edition. The finalists will have the opportunity to meet with the jury not only during the award ceremony on March 9th, but also during portfolio reviews, which have become an integral part of the competition and are part of its mission to promote the works of young artists.
