A diorama is akin to a spatial illustration that may be presented in a wide variety of ways. It constitutes a multiplicity of narratives within a single scene. Each participant will create their own “theatre in a box” individually. We shall use coloured papers of varied textures, prepared and painted in advance, and employ scissors and adhesive for assembly. We will think spatially, constructing several planes, and illuminate our scenography from above or through an opening in the side of the box. We will do our best to produce compelling photographs of our works in order to capture the beauty of the moment.

The workshop is meant to stimulate creativity and unrestrained thinking about space; it will be somewhat painterly and poetic in nature, irrespective of the use of scissors and adhesive.

We shall be unrestrained and vernal.
We shall create our own fairy tale across multiple planes enclosed within a box,
through the agency of free imagination, drawing inspiration from music, memories, colours, and textures, in the soft air of spring.
