Meeting with Belarusian artist, curator and activist Aliaxey Talstou. We will talk about the devilish power of painting, censorship, breaking glass vases in Independence Square in Minsk, the corruption of institutions, the exhaustion of the curator, and co-creation of safer spaces where one can have a rest.
Aliaxey Talstou is an artist of the young generation who in his cross-disciplinary practice combines activism with painting and curatorial work. He took part in exhibitions such as "Shards" at the Canteen XYZ Gallery, Minsk, "For Happiness!” performance at the Independence Square in Minsk or „It`s so beautiful!” installation at the Galeria Ў in Minsk. As a curator he carried out projects: "What unites us?” at the KH Gallery in Brest, or „One Can Not Be Too Careful” at the KH Gallery in Brest. He took part in the group exhibitions such as:" Убежище / Suoja / Shelter” in public space in Helsinki, "One Can Not Be Too Careful" at the Lock Gallery in Brighton or "Talking about politics" at DK Delaj Sam in Moscow.
The meeting will be conducted in Polish and English.
