The aim of the meeting is to outline the areas of lesbian art and visual culture in Poland. We will consider what are the places, institutions, associations, exhibitions, archives and festivals that promote non-heteronormative female creativity. What are the possibilities of organizing and financing such events in a country dominated by homophobic patriarchy and its nationalist museums? And finally, we will talk about the most important artists who create queer art from a woman's perspective! Damski Tandem Twórczy creates, researches and organizes lesbian artistic culture in Poland; together with them we will look at how to understand such art, its forms and themes, local and international contexts. We will also consider the possibilities and limitations of off art in the period of increased economic censorship of official cultural institutions. Therefore, it is time to ask the question whether the spaces of lesbian art in Poland are the spaces of freedom?!
