A conversation with Jarosław Kozłowski will primarily focus on the works bought by Arsenał Municipal Gallery for its holdings thanks to the financial support of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. The meeting, featuring a representative of Fundacja Profile Bożena Czubak and Director of Arsenał Municipal Gallery Marek Wasilewski, will discuss works from the Recycled News series and the Absent assamblage. The discussion will moreover provide an opportunity to discuss the artist's latest exhibition, launched on October 9 at Galeria Piekary in Poznań, and to present Jarosław Kozłowski's Archive of Ideas.
Jarosław Kozłowski - one of the most eminent representatives of conceptual art in Poland. An author of installations, drawings, objects, art books, and performances. In his work he consistently treats art as an area of critical and self-critical analysis. He lives and works in Poznań. An initiator of the international art network NET (1971), he was associated with the Fluxus artistic movement. Between 1981 and 1987 Rector of the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Poznań. He was the founder and director of Akumulatory 2 Gallery in Poznań (1972-1989), and in 1991-1993 he curated the programme of the Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art in Warsaw. Currently, he runs the Archive of Ideas, which is closely linked to the collection of artworks gathered during the operation of Akumulatory 2 Gallery and the NET international artistic exchange launched in 1972.
