Longing for the pre-human and extraterrestrial
a trip to the Morasko nature reserve
22.03.2025, noon

As a farewell to the show Mineral Immersions, we will hold a bus trip to the Morasko Meteorite nature reserve. Accompanying us on the trip will be the artists Anna Siekierska and Mikołaj Szpaczyński, who participate in the exhibition. As curator Monika Bakke observed, their projects “open up to contact with knowledge other than expert know-how, one stemming from personal experience. They reveal a longing for intimate contact with the matter of both the pre-human and the extraterrestrial world”. Given the above, we hope you will join us for a unique stroll into the woods that harbours ancient histories and at the same time for a journey into your own selves.

We encourage you to bring something to donate to the earth, e.g. a trinket such as a copper coin from your wallet. Among other things, during the walk we will perform a joint thanksgiving ritual for the onset of spring.

When people arrived in this area, they granted the place a special status. The circular depressions in the ground were used as sites for rituals associated with the vernal equinox (...)
