Laid-Back Arsenał
Kurinuki pottery workshop with Nami Studio
21.05.2026, 6 pm

REGISTRATION IS CLOSED

Kurinuki is a Japanese technique for creating functional ceramics that combines sculpture with craftsmanship. It involves shaping a vessel from a solid block of clay by gradually hollowing it out and modeling it. This process yields objects with a raw, organic aesthetic that reveal the traces of the artisan’s hands. Each vessel created in this technique is unique; it straddles the line between craft and art, highlighting the material’s natural qualities and the artist’s personal expression.

After the workshop, the vessels will be glazed and fired at Nami Studio. The finished, functional vessels can be picked up at the studio at 49 Prądzyńskiego Street two weeks later.

moderation: Elżbieta Kosek—artisan and owner of Nami Studio, a ceramics atelier where ceramics are created using traditional pottery techniques. She spends her days designing and crafting ceramics and conducting workshops. She has collaborated with cultural institutions and artistic initiatives, including the Arsenał Municipal Gallery, the Zaparzaj Association, and the Lotaryńska 6 Micro-Culture Center, carrying out educational activities and workshops.
