Michał Chomiuk is a painter, nature activist, researcher of folk demonology and tradition, writer and storyteller. He admits that he is inspired by "the beauty of the whole creation: forests, swamps, mountains, folk culture, rituals, rural tales and stories about ghosts, miracles, angels, devils and horrors". Since the age of 15, he has been organizing patrols to fight poaching in the Lublin region. He took part, among others, in campaigns supporting the protection of the Bialowieza Forest (Camp for the Forest) and the Bieszczady Mountains (Wild Carpathian Initiative). He published two books: Dziwy spod strzechy i wierzbowej dziupli [Tall tales from thatched cottages and willow hollows] and Kasza dla diabła [Grouts for the devil], in which he describes folk beliefs and legends. He is currently working on his third book. During the meeting, Michał Chomiuk will share his stories gathered during forest patrols and wanderings, talk about his activity in the Zielona Swoboda Association and read out several legends from his latest book.
