The workshop will be devoted to the concept of work in Marxist terms. Is work in capitalism possible? What is the alienation of work, how did Marx and his followers define exploitation, how can one finally regain the workforce? The proposal of collective reading of unread texts is addressed to those who consider themselves to be working people. Its aim is not only to discuss the usefulness of the Marxism dictionary (the notion of proletarianism, non-material work, labour theory of values), but also to discuss the interdependence of work and free time, raised e.g. by Henri Lefebvre. The workshop will serve to reconstruct and renew several debates that are constitutive for Marxism, for example on the self-awareness of the proletariat and the nature of exploitation.
