Join us for a mindful, moderated photography walk when we will look to see and photograph to see more. In line with the principles of phototherapy, we will jointly celebrate beauty, goodness, delight, and being together. For photography and taking pictures have the incredible power to take us farther, higher and deeper. It is a non-verbal language that can be used for self-development, increasing awareness, fostering balance, developing passions, and seeking connection with ourselves, each other, and the world. Focusing on framing nature around us and creating images will help us connect such opposites as light and shadow, which can be a metaphor for our lives. We will not only base the experience on eyesight and photography, but also stimulate our sense of smell, hearing and touch. We will embark on a languish walk with elements of “forest bathing” (shinrin yoku), so as to attune all our senses to what is significant, supportive and soothing to us. Such practices can help us relax and lower our stress levels. Furthermore, we will learn to see the more positive sides of our lives, which will support us in depressive mental health crises. There will be a stop for tea, conversations and introspection, and at the end all participants will receive a print of a photo of their choice as a record of their well-being.
