The workshop develops skills that are valuable in design and creative practice, including spatial thinking, the basics of structural logic, an understanding of materials, and the principles behind building movable forms. Pop-up is a technique for creating three-dimensional, kinetic paper structures. Elements are cut and folded in such a way that, when a page is opened, they rise, shift position, or fold into a specific shape. The process is precise yet calming: it requires focused attention at each step, allowing participants to quiet the mind and be fully present in the moment.

Participants will work with prepared templates and learn the principles of pop-up techniques step by step. No prior experience is required. Everyone will leave the workshop with a handmade work of their own and a practical understanding of how a flat sheet of paper can be transformed into a 3D object.

Those curious to look behind the scenes are more than welcome to ask questions about the realities of pop-up book production, such as the types of paper used, why prototyping is essential, what limitations arise when producing larger print runs, and what collaboration with printing houses looks like. This QA is an opportunity to exchange practical knowledge that usually remains hidden behind the finished artwork.
