Art galleries are often intimidating places and the works on display instil a sense of being "out of place" - if I don't get something it means I should not be here. Come and join us on a walk through the exhibition We Push the Door Which Says: Pull without any sense of pressure. We will use some simple workshop tasks and try to experience the works in our own way, not necessarily with our eyes and not necessarily standing. We will consider whether the exhibition impacts us personally the way we are.
The Osesi collective of curators and artists works at the crossroads of literature and performance. Interested in the communal dimension of poetry and post-artistic activities, they have held events ranging from community breakfasts to a series of poetry walks. Together with a culture centre in Warsaw, they have launched a Poezja do wczuwania [Immersive Poetry] project, which offers an alternative form of reception of contemporary poetry, emphasising its personal and affective dimension.
The guided tour is adapted for visually impaired visitors and is open to all those interested in a multi-sensory exploration of art. We also welcome all those who wish to explore art through senses other than sight. We will provide assistance in getting to the workshop venue from places which are within a close proximity to the Gallery. Should you need or require such support, please contact: mateusz.nowacki@arsenal.art.pl or by phone at 618529501.
