The starting point for the meeting is Joanna Przybyła's video diaries Decalogue, which, according to the author, ‘inspire a different perception of the Earth - without borders’. The work consists of 10 short films, showing nature as an order of values. They are visual notes from a journey, combining different ways of expression in time and space between two different cities in a common Europe.

The workshop is aimed at young people aged 15 and over. The participants will learn how to work with sound, which can be used to make video sound artistically, but not only. Through moving images and sound, it is possible to express your personal interpretation of the world, how you feel it and what it could be like. We will record sounds from our immediate surroundings: Old Market Square, the gallery space and objects that make interesting noises (we encourage you to bring your own too!).

We will focus on what associations sounds ‘cut’ out of their context evoke in us, what meanings they can add to a video image by being illustrative, complementary, or contrasting, an ironic response to reality. The presenters will share their experience and equipment to record together, process the audio tracks and underlay them with short simple videos. Digital audio recorders, a variety of microphones and a sampler will be available.

NOTE: You are encouraged to bring your laptops (we will install the mixing software on them) and a short video file (1-2 minutes) - a recording from your everyday life. However, this is not mandatory as you will be able to rely on what will be available on site.
