During the stop-motion animation workshops, you will create your own character (a little figure, an animal or a monster) and bring it to life within a setting of your choice. Thanks to the stop-motion technique, with a few pieces of plasticine and your own imagination, we will travel together into space, to a flower meadow or into a magical underwater world.
What will the creative process look like?
We will work in small groups at animation stations with specific, previously prepared semi-spatial sets created by the workshop leader (e.g. space, an underwater world, a meadow, etc.).
Each of the three animation stations will accommodate four children.
Participants will choose a station according to their own preferences or take a place that remains available.
The children will mould a semi-spatial character in a “lying” position and then animate it on the selected set.
If there is enough time, participants will be able to change stations.
The film created during the workshop will be based on one great improvisation, and the “plot” will emerge spontaneously during the animation process. Children often engage in very joyful interactions, and the workshops are filled with laughter.
The final result will be a compilation of three short animations, which the workshop leader will, independently, add sound to and edit after the workshop, and then send to all participants or organisers by email.
